Hello, I’m Mohammed
I’m Mohammed Golam Mortoza. I started tutoring at 18 and have taught math and science ever since, to students from Grade 5 to Grade 12, both one-on-one and in small groups. At university I worked as a teaching assistant. I studied Computer Science through to a master’s degree (BSc and MSc) and also earned a BBA in accounting.
Through my IT company, A+ IT Services, I work with First Nations schools across Alberta and Manitoba, so I know how First Nations schools work. I started A+ Tutoring so First Nations students can get patient, respectful math and science help wherever they live.
I also run A+ Math Academy, a math tutoring program for Grades 5 to 12 in Castle Downs, north Edmonton, and online.
I lead every student’s tutoring and write their learning plan. When a course or timetable calls for extra help, certified high school teachers and university and PhD students on our team step in, and I keep track of each student’s progress the whole way through.

Our mission
To build academic success and confidence for First Nations students by making math and science relevant to their lives and rooted in their strengths.
Where it helps, we use examples from the land and community life, like the geometry of a tipi or the math of community planning, and we welcome families sharing their own. We respect Indigenous ways of knowing alongside Western math and science, an idea some call Two-Eyed Seeing, a term from Mi’kmaw Elder Albert Marshall.
